San Sebastián, España

Well, after 24 hours of travelling, we finally made it to San Sebastián, Spain. I´m writing this about an hour before we leave here, but it´s been an absolutely wonderful time here. We got into Valladolid, Spain, a day or two ago, walked through the town, and decided to get out. It didn´t seem all to special and it was quite expensive. So we got on another trian into this amazing town where it was... raining. To make things even more fun, we decided against staying at a hostel since they were the steepest prices we´ve seen yet. So we camped. About a half hour outside of town is a campground where we pitched a tent for two nights. It rained both nights, but we were nice and dry inside my tent! It was actually kind of fun to finally be able to use all of the gear I brought! This town is incredibly beautiful as you can see from the pictures. The coastline reminds me of Maui actually. Neat ports, good food, and very green (probably from all the rain!).

In an hour we´re off to Pamplona to see the bull run. No hostel.. but nobody has one, so I think we´re okay. Don´t worry - we´re not running.. just watching. The streets are slick and, well, it´s just not the smartest thing to do, you know?

From there, we´ve got a long trip up to Amsterdam where we start the next leg of our trip in the Netherlands and Germany. You´ll probably hear from us there.

Pray for more opportunities to share Christ with others! It´s a dark place over here, and Christian fellowship is quite rare. Glad to have Brian along...

Adios!

The absolutely incredible view from the top!

The view from the road I took a walk on last night.

So Austin, Mom read in a recent news article that 13 people were injured in the Run of the Bulls in Pamplona. Good thing they didn't mention your name; Mom's relieved. The article said it's going to be even crazier next week. You know, when you really step back and think about it for a minute, the whole thing is kind of stupid; but then again, we do some pretty stupid things here in America too.

Love the pictures. We're dyin' over here. Mom and I could tell you were in your element sleeping in your tent listening to the rain. In a strange way, so much more fun than hangin' out in a city. So glad God gave you that little gift right there.

Safe travels to Amsterdam. Be careful over there; flee for the hills if you have to (but still have fun).

Love you, Son.

Dad

Austin!! Are you staying at the Shelter in Amsterdam? They're on hostel world but you DEFINITELY have to book in advance. . .I turned lots of nice young people away when I worked there. :) it would be such an answered prayer in terms of fellowship - oh, and I recommend the Shelter Jordan (although both are great!) because it's a little further from the madness and it's in a really quaint part of town (and close to the Anne Frank house, lots of amazing archetecture and awesome cannals)! Ah - wish I could be there with you guys. . .be sure to post lots of pictures!!

Austin. Julien, the homestay guy moved in yesterday. Thank you very much for letting him sleep in your bed. He is a nice guy, and he speaks english very well. I'm thinking about taking him garage saling this weekend.

Also, I thought I should mention that Brian looks slightly peeved in that photograph, as if someone had just ruffled his luggage.
